Is The Flash season 8 final season of The Flash series?

Though the DC television universe is called the Arrowverse, The Flash is essentially its biggest and most important show at this point, what with Arrow wrapping things up with its eighth and final season last year. With its own seasn 8, The Flash is set to match Arrow in another regard — and with no word from the studios yet, at this point it seems like The Flash will surpass its mothership if it’s renewed for a ninth season.

After stopping a train collision, Barry Allen apprehends The Royal Flush Gang during a heist. At Central City Citizen Media, Iris West-Allen interviews Kristen Kramer, who recently disbanded the meta-task force. She also promotes Allegra Garcia, who struggles to control her staff but is eventually able to shift their focuses to the voice of the people. Meanwhile, Ray Palmer arrives in Central City for a tech convention.

Chester P. Runk surprises him with a group of tech startups, but Ray turns them down, much to Chester’s embarrassment. Despero, a psychic alien, attacks the tech convention and attempts to kill Barry in order to prevent the end of the world which Barry will allegedly cause in 2031. Ray suits up as The Atom and sends him away. Afterwards, Cecile Horton confirms that Despero was telling the truth.

Ray decides to create an organization in Chester’s father’s name that will help new startups and leaves, advising Barry to show Despero the type of person he is. Despero gives Barry seven days to prove his innocence.
