Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling is an upcoming American animated special based on Joe Murray’s Nickelodeon series Rocko’s Modern Life. After being in space for 25 years, Rocko and his friends return to a late-2010s era O-Town with modern amenities such as constantly updating touchscreen phones, radioactive energy drinks, food trucks and coffee shops on every corner. Rocko, who does not share Heffer and Filburt’s enthusiasm for the 21st century and finds that his job at Kind-of-a-Lot-O-Comics has been replaced by an instant-print kiosk, attempts to get his favorite television show The Fatheads back on the air, since it is the last remnant of his past; to do so, he goes on a quest to find Rachel Bighead, the show’s creator. He succeeds and becomes a hero and unwilling celebrity in O-TownIt was originally slated to premiere on Nickelodeon in 2018 as a television special, but was left unaired; in May 2019, Nickelodeon sold the distribution rights of the special to Netflix, which has scheduled its release for August 9, 2019.

In July 2019, Stallone said that another sequel to the Rocky franchise is in development and there have been ongoing discussions about a prequel television series based on the early years of Rocky Balboa.

Following Erin and her friends as they grow up in a world of armed police in armoured Land Rovers and British Army check points in 1990s Northern Ireland and attempt to navigate the highs and lows of being teenagers.
